Dora Hart is a scheming $18-a-week stenographer who vamps a young realtor to hire her as his secretary on her quest to climb her way up the social ladder. She then leaves him for a crooked real estate agent who has a widow-robbing operation. When next seen she is on a one-year yacht trip with a wealthy man, but breaks their engagement and sets her sights on marry George Davis, an up-and-comer in the banking business. But, first, she has to break up his engagement to pure-heart Sally Newton.

The Aldwych Theater farceurs are at it again in Fighting Stock. The punning title refers to a well-stocked rural fishing stream, which sparks a battle royale between two rival groups of fishermen. Brigadier-General Sir Donald Rowley (Tom Walls) gets involved in the fray when he rents a country cottage with his nephew Sydney (Ralph Lynn). While the nephew pitches woo at the local maidens, General Rowley adopts military tactics to reclaim the stream from village squire Duck (J. Robertson Hare).

The boys are working at the local boxing arena where their friend, Jimmy Higgins, is boxing. During a crooked match Jimmy is killed. The boys seek out his older brother, Johnny, a former boxer who gave up the sport rather than go crooked, and help train him to get back in the ring. They try to get him a shot at the title, and when they do the same crooked gangsters that were behind Jimmy's death try to get Johnny to take a dive.
